What is Foundayo?

Foundayo is a once-daily tablet containing orforglipron, a GLP-1 medicine studied for weight loss and type 2 diabetes. It acts on the same appetite pathway as the GLP-1 treatments already used in weight management, but it is taken as a pill rather than an injection.
GLP-1 is a hormone your gut releases after you eat. It signals fullness to your brain and slows how quickly your stomach empties, so you feel satisfied on less food. Orforglipron is designed to mimic that signal.
Because it is a tablet, there is nothing to inject and nothing to keep refrigerated. It is taken once a day, with or without food.

How effective is Foundayo?

The largest trial to date, ATTAIN-1, followed more than 3,000 adults living with obesity or overweight over 72 weeks.*
12.4%
Average weight loss on the highest dose over 72 weeks, against under 1% on placebo
6 in 10
Lost at least 10% of their body weight
4 in 10
Lost 15% or more of their body weight on the highest dose
Researchers also recorded improvements in markers linked to heart health, including cholesterol, triglycerides and blood pressure, alongside lower levels of inflammation. As with any GLP-1 medicine, side effects varied between individuals.
* ATTAIN-1, a 72-week phase 3 trial in adults living with obesity or overweight, taking the maximum dose of orforglipron alongside lifestyle changes. Individual results vary. Full sources listed in References.

FAQs

Your questions answered.

When will Foundayo be available in the UK?
We do not have a confirmed date. Foundayo has MHRA approval, but it still needs to reach UK pharmacy supply before it can be prescribed. Join the waitlist and we will email you as soon as that changes.
What are the most common side effects of oral GLP-1s?
The most common side effects in the OASIS 4 and ATTAIN‑1 trials were gastrointestinal: nausea, constipation, diarrhoea, and indigestion. These tend to be mild-to-moderate and most pronounced when increasing dose.

Our clinical guide covers them in detail.
What's the difference between oral semaglutide and orforglipron?
Oral semaglutide is the same active ingredient as Wegovy, taken as a tablet with a strict morning fasting routine. Orforglipron is a new class — a small-molecule GLP‑1 receptor agonist — that doesn’t need fasting, can be taken with or without food, and uses a different chemical structure entirely.
Is Foundayo a tablet or an injection?
A tablet. It is taken once a day, with or without food, and it does not need to be kept in a fridge.
Who is the pill suitable for?

It has been studied in adults living with obesity or overweight. Whether it is appropriate for you depends on your BMI, your medical history and any other medication you take. Our clinicians assess that individually and only prescribe when it is clinically suitable.

Can I join the waitlist and start treatment now?

Yes. Joining the waitlist does not commit you to anything and does not affect a plan you are already on. If you want to start now, complete our assessment and a clinician will confirm what you are eligible for.
